Career Summary
Marc Moro served as captain of the Marlies from their inaugural game in 2005 until he retired at the completion of the 2006-07 season. He was also the captain of the St. John’s Maple Leafs from 2004-05. The 6’1, 229-pound defenceman played in 152 games with the Marlies, registering 15 points (two goals, 13 assists) and 288 penalty minutes. Moro spent the final six years of his professional hockey career playing in the Toronto Maple Leafs system, skating in 383 games in the blue and white and registering 45 points (nine goals, 36 assists). He won the Toronto Marlies MVP, player’s choice award for the 2006-07 season and the Toronto Marlies Community Service award for the 2005-06 season.
Moro appeared in 30 career NHL games, registering 77 penalty minutes with the Anaheim Ducks, Nashville Predators and Toronto Maple Leafs. He was originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the second round, 27th overall in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft.
On Sunday March 9, 2008, Moro was honoured at the Ricoh Coliseum for his dedication to the Toronto Marlies.
